Medical Assistance Transportation

MATP provides transportation to a wide range of medical services covered by Medical Assistance (MA). Eligible transportation includes trips to:

• Physicians, dentists, and health clinics
• Podiatrists and rural health clinics
• Hospice programs and physical therapy
• Outpatient services, pharmacies, and dialysis clinics
• Drug and alcohol treatment centers
• Mental health centers and outpatient rehab services
• Optometrists, psychologists, and ambulatory surgical centers

Services Not Covered

MATP does not cover:

• Emergency transportation requiring an ambulance
• Transportation to sheltered workshops or daycare programs
• Rides for visitation purposes
• Stretcher or door-through-door services
• Non-medical transportation
• Travel during unsafe weather conditions
• Transportation to medical services not covered by the MA program
